[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Byeong-nae) announced on the 24th that it will promote three public education advancement policy projects as part of the cultural education special zone specialization project, including support for English experience activities at daycare centers and kindergartens.
On this day, the private consignment review committee meeting for the public education advancement policy project was held in Nam-gu.
The review committee members agreed to entrust three projects promoted by Nam-gu as public education advancement policy projects to specialized institutions for implementation: ▲support for English experience activities at local daycare centers and kindergartens ▲operation of Saturday schools to nurture dreams and talents ▲operation of Nam-gu youth English camp.
Accordingly, Nam-gu plans to officially proceed with the related projects by announcing the recruitment of consignment institutions and selecting consignees between next month and June after obtaining the consent of the Nam-gu Council.
First, the support project for English experience activities at local daycare centers and kindergartens is scheduled to be conducted for 54 daycare centers and 29 private kindergartens in the district.
This project aims for daycare and kindergarten children to visit professional English education institutions and enhance their English learning abilities through various experiences and conversations with native speakers.
The operation of Saturday schools to nurture dreams and talents is a family-oriented experience program where students and parents participate together on weekends, established to realize educational welfare by reducing private education expenses.
Children and parents from socially disadvantaged families in the district, as well as students and parents attending elementary and middle schools, can participate, and the program will be conducted according to the content submitted by the consignment institution.
The youth English camp is a program aimed at fostering global talents and improving English communication skills, targeting students attending elementary and middle schools in the district.
Utilizing the summer vacation period, students will stay at professional educational institutions and develop language skills through communication in English with foreigners, which is expected to be very popular.
