Damyang-gun Selects Recipients for 'Citizen Award and Honorary Citizen'

This year, the Encouragement Award for the 'Citizen Award' was given to Yoo Young-gun, CEO of Hojeong Food (Industrial Economy Division), and Park Dong-hwa, CEO of Bukbu Environment (Social Welfare Division), while a Special Award was given to Lee Jeong-hee, Damyang Education Director.
Yoo Young-gun, CEO of Hojeong Food and recipient of the Encouragement Award in the Industrial Economy Division of the 'Damyang Citizen Award,' was recognized for contributing to the local economy through industrialization of local specialties such as 'Changpyeong Rice Candy and Hangwa,' job creation, and active donations.
Also, Park Dong-hwa, CEO of Bukbu Environment and recipient of the Encouragement Award in the Social Welfare Division, contributed to improving residents' quality of life by enhancing the image of a 'clean and well-organized Damyang' and providing a pleasant living environment through prompt and reliable cleaning services of various household wastes while handling the county's cleaning services since 1998.
Lee Jeong-hee, Damyang Education Director and recipient of the Special Award in the Education Division, worked hard to nurture local scientific talents and ensure education for underprivileged students.
In particular, through collaboration with the local community, Lee actively strived to implement responsible education based on coexistence and cooperation and to realize premium Damyang education that attracts visitors.
Han Seon-ju, professor at Chosun University, who was selected as an honorary citizen, has shared the vision of 'Design Damyang' as the principal of the Urban Design School since 2016 and served as a member of the Landscape Design Committee.
Han also contributed to the qualitative improvement and development of local design, earning the Honorary Citizen Certificate for realizing 'Premium Design City Damyang.'
Meanwhile, the judging committee for the Citizen Award decided to cancel the Citizen's Day ceremony scheduled for the 3rd of next month to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and avoid community cluster infections.

The county plans to hold an event to comfort citizens tired of long-term social distancing depending on future developments and to hold an awards ceremony for the Citizen Award and Honorary Citizen Certificate recipients.
