Yeosu City Cuts Usage Fees by up to 80% for Small Business Owners Using State-Owned Property
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Small business owners who lease and use state-owned property can receive up to an 80% discount on state-owned property usage fees from this month until the end of the year.
Yeosu City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Kwon Oh-bong) announced on the 23rd that it has been accepting applications for fee reductions since the 1st of this month in line with government policies to ease the burden of usage fees for small business owners using state-owned property.
The application period is until September 28, and the difference will be refunded for usage fees already collected after the 1st.
To apply, applicants must prepare a business registration certificate, a small business confirmation certificate (or withholding tax payment status report and value-added tax standard certificate) and submit them to the Construction Department of Yeosu City.
However, state-owned properties subject to fees under laws other than the State Property Act, such as the Road Act and River Act, are excluded. Detailed information is available on the Yeosu City Hall website.
A Yeosu City official said, “We expect this to provide practical help for small business owners struggling with poor sales and sharp declines in revenue to recover from COVID-19 damage,” and added, “We hope small business owners apply within the deadline to receive the benefits.”
