KBS Symphony Orchestra 'Digital K-Hall' Second Series 'Overture Marathon'
[Asia Economy Reporter Byunghee Park] The KBS Symphony Orchestra is putting together the second series of 'Digital K-Hall,' featuring a collection of diverse and familiar overtures.
'Digital K-Hall' is an online performance platform service launched by the KBS Symphony Orchestra on YouTube on March 25. The first series showcased performances of Gustav Mahler's symphonies conducted during the tenure of former music director Yoel Levi, presented over seven episodes.
For the second series of 'Digital K-Hall,' the KBS Symphony Orchestra plans to release six videos, each about 20 to 30 minutes long, featuring famous overtures performed and shared on YouTube.
The first video of the overture series will be available on the KBS Symphony Orchestra's YouTube channel at 8 PM on the 22nd. It will feature performances of Dvo??k's "Carnival Overture," Johann Strauss II's "Die Fledermaus Overture," and Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro Overture." Following this, viewers can enjoy collections of overtures by composers such as Wagner, Berlioz, and Beethoven. Additionally, pieces frequently performed as concert openers, like Khachaturian's "Spartacus Suite" and Enescu's "Romanian Rhapsody No. 1," will also be featured.
Actor Son Hyun-joo will host this overture series. Since 2004, Son Hyun-joo has been the director of the Evangel Choir, a choir for disabled youth, demonstrating his deep connection to music.
