Mokpo National University Extends COVID-19 Remote Classes Until End of First Semester
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Mokpo National University (President Park Min-seo) announced on the 21st that although the number of COVID-19 infections is decreasing, the period of remote classes will be extended until June 24 (end of the first semester) under the current situation, including the extension of 'social distancing' until the 5th of next month.
Mokpo National University held a faculty meeting and decided to extend remote classes after collecting opinions from students and professors at a time when long-term efforts such as the government's 'social distancing' and prevention of community infection spread are necessary.
With the extension of remote classes, partial face-to-face classes will be allowed for essential experimental, practical, and skill subjects, and the 'Novel Coronavirus Emergency Response Committee' will establish and operate its own quarantine guidelines for attending school.
In addition, the intensive reinforcement period will be extended for two weeks after the end of classes on June 24. However, midterm exams will be left to the discretion of the faculty and are required to comply with non-face-to-face evaluation.
