[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] “With a small help from Heungcheonsa Temple, we hope the COVID-19 pandemic will end soon so that everyone can be healthy and we can meet again in the near future. We send this small token of our sincerity.”
Heungcheonsa Temple of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism, located in Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Seungro Lee), continues to share with neighbors despite the COVID-19 situation.
On the 20th, they delivered 1,260 masks to the Donam 2-dong Community Service Center, asking that they be distributed to neighbors in need.
Heungcheonsa’s sharing is not something special. They provide support such as rice sharing for marginalized groups in the community, children, and the elderly, and hold various events to engage with the local community.
Venerable Jeonggwan of Heungcheonsa said, “Although many difficulties and hardships come with living through the COVID-19 crisis, please do not lose courage. We hope you endure this tough time until we return to peaceful daily life. We are sending masks hoping it will offer some comfort.”

Jung Sooyoung, head of Donam 2-dong, said, “Heungcheonsa, whose members also serve on the welfare council, regularly supports neighbors in need with rice, Yakult, and other items. This time, they generously donated a large number of masks as well. We are grateful for their great support in difficult times and their efforts to overcome this crisis together. We will make sure to deliver these masks to vulnerable groups such as elderly living alone.”
