Wando-gun Launches Support Project for Stable Youth Job Seeking Activities
Monthly Support of 500,000 KRW for Unemployed Youth, Totaling 3 Million KRW Over 6 Months
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Kyung-pil] Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 21st that it will promote the 'Youth Job-Seeking Activity Allowance Support Project' to assist unemployed youth who are having difficulties in job-seeking activities due to the contraction of the job market caused by COVID-19.
Applicants must be unemployed youth aged 18 to 34 residing in Wando-gun as of the application date, who have graduated, completed, or dropped out of their final education at least 2 years ago, and whose household income is below 150% of the median income (7,124,000 KRW for a family of four).
Selected applicants can receive 500,000 KRW per month for 6 months, totaling 3,000,000 KRW, to focus on stable job-seeking activities.
The support fund will be provided via a check card that cannot be cashed to prevent fraudulent use, and can be used for lectures, textbooks, exam fees, interview activity expenses, and meal costs related to job-seeking activities.
In particular, part of the support fund (300,000 KRW from the first payment) will be given as Wando Love Gift Certificates to help revitalize the local economy, which has been depressed due to COVID-19.
Wando-gun plans to select a total of 20 people and will accept online applications through the Jeollanam-do Integrated Job Information Network until the 6th of next month.
However, participants from last year are not eligible for support this year, and participation in similar projects by central government ministries or other local governments is possible only after the support has ended or been suspended for a certain period.
