Gwangju Seo-gu 'Reading Club Revitalization Project' Project Briefing Session Held
From the 22nd to the 24th
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Daeseok) announced on the 21st that it will hold a project briefing session from the 22nd to the 24th to promote the ‘2020 Seo-gu Book Club Revitalization Project’.
The ‘Seo-gu Book Club Revitalization Project,’ which has been promoted since last year, was prepared to spread the local reading culture through the revitalization of book clubs by supporting discussion books, consulting, and capacity-building education.
It also aims to realize a reading culture community that communicates and empathizes with neighbors through books.
This project briefing session will be held over three days as a regional briefing session instead of the existing integrated format to prevent the spread of infection due to COVID-19 and to participate in ‘social distancing.’
A library official said, “We hope that citizens with common interests will gather to communicate and discuss together, transforming their own lives while also leading changes in the local community,” and added, “We hope many citizens will participate in book club activities.”
