Hampyeong Fire Station Operates 'Drone Surveillance Team' for Spring Fire Prevention
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Hampyeong Fire Station (Chief Im Donghyun) announced on the 21st that it will operate a 'drone surveillance team' to reduce forest fires (wildfires) as part of special measures for spring fire prevention until the 31st of next month.
Among fires in the spring season (March to May) over the past five years, outdoor and forest fires accounted for the highest proportion at 40.1%, and it was confirmed that fires mainly occurred due to carelessness such as burning around rice paddies and fields.
In particular, many cases involved elderly people whose burning activities expanded into fires, leading to fire damage and casualties while trying to extinguish the fire recklessly.
