Jungnang-gu, Free Collection of Food Waste from Small Restaurants
Support for Small Business Owners Facing Sales Decline Due to COVID-19: 4,450 Small Restaurants in the Region to Participate in a 6-Month Program from April 20 to October 19...Dispose Food Waste in Existing Dedicated Containers Without Purchasing Payment Certificates
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) will provide free food waste collection for small restaurants in the area for six months starting from the 20th.
This free food waste collection is part of support measures for small business owners affected by COVID-19. It was prepared to help small restaurants that have suffered losses such as decreased sales due to increased social distancing and people refraining from going out.
The amount of fee reduction due to free collection support is approximately 450 million KRW.
The free collection target includes 4,450 small restaurants such as general restaurants and cafes with an area of less than 200㎡, and the program will run from the 20th until October 19.
During the free collection period, small restaurants can dispose of food waste in the existing dedicated food waste collection containers without purchasing or using payment certificates (volume-based waste bags).
For inquiries, detailed information can be obtained by using the Jungnang-gu Office website or contacting the Cleaning Administration Division of Jungnang-gu Office.
In addition to free food waste collection, the district is doing its best to revitalize the depressed local economy by implementing measures such as support for closure of multi-use facilities, traditional market support projects, loan interest rate reductions, expansion of small and medium enterprise development funds, and special credit guarantee loans as part of support measures for small business owners affected by COVID-19.
