Are You Ready for Youth to Gather and Unleash Their Dreams and Talents?… Mapo-gu, Recruiting Youth Clubs
Approximately 50 clubs with 10 or more youths in Mapo-gu invited to apply... Up to 1.25 million KRW support per selected club, email applications accepted until May 8
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Mapo-gu (Mayor Yudonggyun) is recruiting youth clubs for the ‘Seuseuro Project’ to help develop teenagers' talents and aptitudes, foster a healthy peer culture, and enhance cultural sensibility.
As part of the Mapo Innovation Education District Project, the youth club support program ‘Seuseuro Project,’ promoted together with the Mapo Public Mangwon Youth Culture Center (Director Heesoo Lee), is a program that activates autonomous and continuous club activities among local youth.
The district supports club activities so that teenagers can develop various talents and capabilities, and helps create a place for diverse information exchange and communication among youth by building networks utilizing human and material resources in the local community.
Last year, a total of 33 youth clubs were supported, and this year the support will be expanded to recruit and support about 50 clubs.
The support target is clubs composed of 10 or more youths residing or attending school in Mapo-gu, and applications are open regardless of the field.
The 2020 ‘Seuseuro Project’ youth club recruitment runs until May 8. Those wishing to participate can download the application form and related documents from the Mapo Public Mangwon Youth Culture Center website (www.mwyouth.org) or the Mapo-gu Office website (www.mapo.go.kr), fill them out, and apply via email (rnjsalswns12@naver.com).
The participating clubs will be finally selected through document screening by a public-private-academic governance review committee, and the results will be announced in May.
The selected ‘Seuseuro Project’ participant clubs will begin activities from the end of May and receive support such as activity funds up to 1.25 million KRW and professional education from village instructor mentors.
Additionally, a club federation council will be formed to provide opportunities to experience various community activities and receive capacity-building programs.
