Gyeonggi-do Intensifies Crackdown on Dessert Food Companies Including Macaron Makers
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province is conducting a focused crackdown on dessert food manufacturers such as macarons.
The Gyeonggi Province Special Judicial Police announced on the 21st that from the 23rd to the 29th, they will launch an intensive investigation targeting dessert food manufacturing and sales companies in the province, including macarons, cookies, and cakes, to block hazards in the rapidly growing dessert dining market.
The main inspection items include ▲unreported or unregistered manufacturing and sales ▲exceeding standards for harmful substances such as tar dyes, food poisoning bacteria, preservatives ▲use of inappropriate raw materials ▲false indication of origin ▲unsanitary manufacturing environments.
The Special Judicial Police plan to seize illegal products upon detection and trace suppliers to eradicate the distribution of fraudulent and substandard foods.
