Student Record Management Tips, Online Services for Programs like Video Consulting... Videos Posted on YouTube and Websites... Key Videos Also Provided to Local Schools
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, elementary, middle, and high schools across the country have been conducting ‘online school openings’ sequentially since the beginning of this month.
Accordingly, it is expected that various education-related programs previously conducted on-site will also face disruptions.
Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Yoo Deok-yeol) is addressing this issue by collaborating with the Dongdaemun College Admission Counseling Center, Dongdaemun Career and Job Experience Support Center, and Dongdaemun Education Vision Center to create and provide various learning, career, and college admission-related programs online for students, parents, and schools.
The Dongdaemun College Admission Counseling Center offers a ‘Parent College Admission Class’ lecture for parents of high school seniors through its website (www.ddmjinhak.co.kr) until the end of this month. This program received very high praise from parents during its first online lecture held last month. Jin Dong-seop, a former Seoul National University admissions officer and a regular panelist on MBC’s ‘Gongbuda Meoni (Study is Money)’, serves as the instructor, delivering a lecture titled ‘Student Record Management Tips for Coping with COVID-19.’
Starting from the 24th of this month, the center will also conduct ‘video consulting,’ an upgraded version of the existing online consultation via bulletin boards. Six admission consultants from Uway will provide consultations. Consultations are available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Students or parents wishing to receive consultation can apply from the 23rd of this month on the Dongdaemun College Admission Counseling Center website (www.ddmjinhak.co.kr).
The Dongdaemun Education Vision Center also operates a ‘Parent Online Classroom.’ Inviting professional instructors, the center offers lectures on topics such as △Understanding Your Child’s Learning Style △Books That Read Smoothly ? Havruta, helping parents understand their children’s tendencies and provide appropriate learning guidance and discipline. Lecture videos can be viewed on YouTube (channel name: DBS Dongdaemun-gu Office Internet Broadcasting) and the Dongdaemun Education Vision Center website (http://eduvision.ddm.go.kr).
The Dongdaemun Career and Job Experience Support Center develops and distributes ‘Career Education Lesson Plans’ and ‘Career Class Videos’ for career teachers in local schools to use in student guidance. In collaboration with YouTuber ‘Hyanggi Only,’ the center also provides ‘Experience Kits’ to applicants, allowing students to watch ‘Banggu-seok Classroom’ videos at home and try out the experiences.
Applications for the ‘Experience Kits’ can be made on the Dongdaemun Career and Job Experience Support Center website (www.ddmwarak.com).
Additionally, an ‘Online Career Counseling Service’ via chat on the website (www.ddmwarak.com) is provided to help youth consult about their career concerns.
