60-Year-Old Man Arrested for Killing Acquaintance and Fleeing in the Middle of the Night
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] A man in his 60s who stabbed a woman in her 60s to death with a weapon late at night and fled has been arrested by the police.
The Gwangju Western Police Station announced on the 20th that they had urgently arrested A (64) on suspicion of murder for killing a woman he knew.
A is suspected of stabbing B (61, female), who was dining with other acquaintances at a restaurant in Nongsong-dong, Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, at around 1:50 a.m. the previous day, causing her death.
At around 4 p.m. that day, A was found collapsed after drinking poison on a hiking trail near Jeungsimsa Temple in Dong-gu, Gwangju. The police, who had been tracking him through mobile phone location tracking, discovered him.
He was immediately transported to a university hospital for treatment and is currently reported to be in stable condition.
