Jeonnam Health and Environment Research Institute Pursues 'International Certification' in Water Quality Sector
Performing International Proficiency Test Organized by the American Society for Environmental Resources Until the 28th of Next Month
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Health and Environment Research Institute (Director Park Jongsu) announced on the 20th that it will participate in an international proficiency test conducted by the Environmental Resource Association (ERA) in the United States to improve measurement and analysis capabilities in the environmental field and to ensure the reliability of analysis results.
The Environmental Resource Association (ERA) in the United States is an international proficiency testing organization certified under ISO Guide 43/17043, and analytical institutions worldwide participate in the international proficiency tests to enhance the reliability and accuracy of measurement and analysis data.
This international proficiency test evaluation will be conducted until the 28th of next month.
The evaluation items include a total of 20 categories, covering general water pollutants such as organic substances, nutrients, and microorganisms, as well as specific harmful water substances such as benzene and chloroform, and the analysis capabilities for these will be comprehensively assessed.
Park Chano, head of the Industrial Wastewater Division, said, “We hope this proficiency evaluation will serve as an opportunity to improve the measurement and analysis capabilities of environmental pollutants,” adding, “We will continue to participate in various international proficiency tests to secure expertise and strive to become a trusted environmental analysis institution.”

Meanwhile, the Jeonnam Health and Environment Research Institute also participated in the test last year and received the highest grade of “satisfactory” in all 20 categories, confirming its status as an internationally accredited testing institution.
