Seoul Reports 0 New COVID-19 Cases... Seven Consecutive Days with Fewer Than 5 Cases
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] On the 19th, there were no new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Seoul area. The number of additional confirmed cases in Seoul remained in single digits for ten consecutive days since the 9th, recording zero cases on both the 16th and 19th.
Seoul City announced on the 20th at 10 a.m. that the cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Seoul was 624, the same figure as reported at the same time the previous day.
The number of confirmed cases by date of confirmation in Seoul was in double digits, ranging from 11 to 20 cases from April 1 to 5, then dropped to 7 cases on Monday the 6th after the weekend. It slightly rebounded to 10 cases on the 7th and 11 cases on the 8th, then decreased again to 5, 3, and 2 cases on the 9th, 10th, and 11th, respectively.
From April 12 to 18, the number of confirmed cases by date of confirmation in Seoul continued to decline, with 8, 3, 5, 1, 1, 2, and 1 cases respectively over the recent week.
Accordingly, out of the 624 confirmed cases in Seoul to date, 288 patients have fully recovered and been discharged, while 334 are currently receiving isolation treatment. There have been 2 deaths.

Classifying the cumulative 624 confirmed cases in Seoul by major infection sources, 246 cases (39.4%) were due to overseas contact, the highest proportion. By district of residence, Gangnam-gu, which has many returning students and others, had the highest number with 62 cases among the 25 districts.
