NH Nonghyup Card Begins Issuing Gyeonggi-do Disaster Basic Income Prepaid Cards
Reception of Visit Applications at Local NongHyup Bank Branches and Administrative Welfare Centers
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] NH Nonghyup Card announced on the 20th that it will begin distributing the Gyeonggi-do Disaster Basic Income prepaid cards.
The recipients of the Gyeonggi-do Disaster Basic Income prepaid card are residents who have been continuously registered in Gyeonggi-do from before March 23, 2020, until the application date. The amount provided per person is 100,000 KRW.
Additionally, in the case of 18 cities and counties within Gyeonggi-do, support funds separately provided by local governments can be integrated and received within the limit of one Gyeonggi-do Disaster Basic Income prepaid card per person, and family integrated payments are also possible. The 18 cities and counties are Yongin, Seongnam, Bucheon, Hwaseong, Pyeongtaek, Siheung, Uijeongbu, Gimpo, Gwangmyeong, Hanam, Yangju, Icheon, Anseong, Uiwang, Yangpyeong, Yeoju, Dongducheon, and Gwacheon.
To apply, applicants must bring their ID and visit a Nonghyup Bank branch in their residential area (weekdays 09:00?16:00) or an administrative welfare center (weekdays 09:00?20:00, weekends and holidays 09:00?18:00).
The application period varies depending on the number of household members and is conducted using a 5-day rotation system based on the last digit of the applicant’s birth year. For households with four or more members, the period is April 20?26; for three-member households, April 27?May 3; for two-member households, May 4?10; and for single-person households or those who have not applied, May 11?17. From May 18 to July 31, applications are accepted from all households.
The 5-day rotation application days are Monday for birth years ending in 1 or 6, Tuesday for 2 or 7, Wednesday for 3 or 8, Thursday for 4 or 9, and Friday for 5 or 0. On weekends, applications can be submitted at administrative welfare centers regardless of the last digit of the birth year. However, weekend applications are not accepted during the overall application period (May 18 to July 31).
Applicants can receive the prepaid card immediately after applying, but actual usage takes about two business days. The card can be used from the time the applicant receives a usage approval text message on their mobile phone.

The usage period is within three months from the date of receiving the text message, and the usage deadline is August 31. If three months pass or the usage deadline passes, any unused balance will be reclaimed and cannot be used.
