With the selection of these two projects, the district will receive a project fund of 100 million KRW.
The ‘Resident Technology School Project’ is a program that provides technical education needed by residents and supports residents in establishing enterprises (such as social cooperatives) that can contribute to local economic revitalization and job creation.
To this end, the district conducted a demand survey for resident technical education last year and selected home repair and landscaping/horticulture as technical education courses. Additionally, in March, it held two consultations with the Seoul Northern Education Technology Institute, Chang 3-dong and Dobong 2-dong Urban Regeneration Support Centers, and the Village Social Economy Support Center.
Accordingly, this year, the district plans to provide residents with home repair technical education and support the establishment of a local-based social economy enterprise called a ‘local management company’ in urban regeneration areas (Chang 3-dong and Dobong 2-dong) based on residents’ technical skills.
The district plans to conduct home repair education such as wallpapering, tiling, waterproofing, and architectural painting at the Seoul Northern Education Technology Institute from June to October through resident recruitment.
Also, the social cooperative ‘Dodo Farm Social Cooperative’ will provide landscaping and horticulture education for 10 Dobong-gu village managers and residents from June to August to maintain alleyway environments.
Along with this, the district is promoting the ‘Apartment Complex Co-living Project,’ which addresses daily life problems experienced by residents living in apartment complexes through social economy enterprises and social economy methods to create better living conditions. This is a three-year project, and in the first year, resident groups will be formed to develop and operate programs for joint problem-solving.
The Banghak-dong Sindonga 1st Complex Apartment has been selected for this ‘Apartment Complex Co-living Project.’
The Banghak-dong Sindonga 1st Complex Apartment consists of 31 buildings and 3,169 households, and for project execution, a resident community space (3 floors above ground, 707㎡) that has been abandoned for seven years will be remodeled.
Furthermore, once the resident community space is completed, the district plans to discover resident groups within the complex by linking with various social economy enterprises and local resources in cooperation with the Dobong-gu Village Social Economy Support Center.
Additionally, focusing on healthy food for dual-income families and seniors aged 65 and older, the district will conduct proper dietary education, operate village dining tables, and hold flea markets with residents to foster a culture of care.
Through the ‘Resident Technology School’ and the ‘Apartment Complex Co-living Project,’ the district plans for residents to participate as social economy consumers, investors, and entrepreneurs, proposing innovative solutions to everyday issues such as housing, care, and jobs, thereby leading a virtuous local economy as social economy actors.
