This project was prepared to resolve the manpower shortage of small and medium-sized enterprises in the district due to the COVID-19 pandemic and to induce youth employment and long-term retention, thereby expanding the hiring of regular workers among local youth.
Last year, the district implemented the Filling Deduction, supporting a total of 23 million KRW for 7 companies and 8 youths, achieving the result that 7 out of 8 employed youths maintained long-term employment.
From this year, support is provided to small and medium-sized enterprises located in Dongjak-gu that are not enrolled in the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s Youth Tomorrow Filling Deduction, and to youths aged 15 to 34 residing in Dongjak-gu (up to 39 for those who have completed military service).
In particular, the eligibility requirements for companies have been relaxed compared to last year to support the hiring of small-scale companies with fewer than 5 regular employees and to enhance employment stability.
After applying for the Filling Deduction, companies receive a hiring incentive of 2 million KRW, and youths receive a retention support payment of 1 million KRW, which is paid in installments upon verification of eligibility at 1, 6, and 12 months.
Companies or youths wishing to apply should submit the application form and supporting documents within 6 months from the date of regular employment to the Job Policy Division (☎820-1693) by visiting, mail, or email (pyjin18@dongjak.go.kr).
Jinhee Jo, head of the Job Policy Division, said, “We expect this project to help stabilize employment for local small and medium-sized enterprises and youths experiencing manpower shortages due to COVID-19,” and added, “We will continue to strengthen support policies for jobs for companies and youths.”
