107 New COVID-19 Cases in Tokyo... Over 100 Cases for 6 Consecutive Days
[Asia Economy Reporter Onyu Lim] Kyodo News and NHK reported that 107 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Tokyo, Japan on the 19th.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in Tokyo to 3,082. The daily new cases in Tokyo have exceeded 100 for six consecutive days since the 14th.
The first time daily new cases in Tokyo exceeded 100 was on the 4th of this month. Between the 4th and 19th, except for the 6th, 7th, and 13th, the number of new cases surpassed 100 every day.
According to NHK's tally as of 5:30 PM on the 19th, the total number of COVID-19 cases nationwide in Japan reached 11,366, an increase of 221 from midnight of the same day. The number of new cases is expected to rise further once all local government tallies are completed.
