Seoul City Hires 5 Severely Disabled Individuals as Regular Public Officials
Targeting Certified Professionals in the Field Through Competitive Career Recruitment
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] Seoul City announced on the 19th that it will hire 5 people with severe disabilities through a competitive career recruitment exam in celebration of 'Disability Day' on the 20th.
This recruitment exam allows individuals classified as having severe disabilities under the 'Act on the Promotion of Employment and Vocational Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities' to apply regardless of the type of disability.
The planned number of recruits includes 1 person for Computer Grade 7, 1 person for Veterinary Grade 7, 2 people for Computer Grade 9, and 1 person for Landscaping Grade 9. Among these, the Computer Grade 7 position requires relevant field experience depending on the certification; engineers must have at least 3 years of experience in the related field, and industrial engineers must have at least 6 years of work or research experience in the related field.
The Veterinary Grade 7, Computer Grade 9, and Landscaping Grade 9 positions require only the necessary certification to apply.
Applications can be submitted online at the Seoul City Internet Application Center (http://gosi.seoul.go.kr) from July 4 to 11. The announcement of successful candidates for the document screening will be on June 12, the interview exam will be held on June 30, and the final successful candidates will be announced on July 17.

Kim Tae-gyun, Director of the Seoul City Administration Bureau, said, "We will continue to increase positions suitable for people with severe disabilities to work," adding, "Even after appointment, we will create conditions for them to demonstrate their capabilities through customized support such as assistive technology devices and work assistants."
