Gangseo-gu, Removal of Dangerous Unclaimed Signboards
Applications Accepted Until the 24th for Free Demolition
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Noh Hyun-song) is organizing ownerless hazardous signs that have been neglected for a long time, threatening residents' safety and damaging the city's aesthetics.
Ownerless signs are those left unattended without any action due to the store owner's closure, business relocation, or change of business type, resulting in no owner or manager for the sign. These signs not only harm the city's appearance but also pose a risk of falling accidents caused by strong winds.
Accordingly, the district office will accept demolition applications for ownerless signs and old or severely damaged signs that pose safety issues until the 24th to create a safe and clean urban environment.
Applications can be made by the building owner where the ownerless sign is displayed or the advertiser of the old sign that raises safety concerns. Applicants must visit the Gangseo-gu Office Urban Design Division and submit the hazardous and ownerless sign demolition application form along with a consent form.
After receiving the application, an on-site investigation will determine the presence of an owner, the degree of aging, and risk to finalize the signs subject to demolition. The demolition cost is free of charge.
