Increasing Requests to Share Korean Experiences in Latin America
Presentations by Domestic Medical Staff and Real-Time Q&A Offered via Webinar
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on the 19th that it will jointly hold the "Korea-Latin America COVID-19 Response Webinar" with the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Health Industry Development Institute starting at 7 a.m. Korean time on the 21st.
This webinar is being held at the request of various Latin American countries, including Chile and Uruguay, which have shown great interest in Korea's transparent and advanced response and quarantine system for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). Currently, about 240 participants, including the Chile Medical Association and Uruguayan health officials, have registered to attend.
It is expected to serve as an opportunity to share Korea's COVID-19 response experience in real time with Latin American countries where COVID-19 is rapidly spreading.
Domestic medical experts will participate in this seminar to present ▲COVID-19 epidemiological analysis, ▲COVID-19 diagnosis and testing, ▲clinical treatment experience, and ▲cases of patient and staff management, followed by responding to and discussing participants' questions through the chat window.

An official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained, "With the rapid increase in overseas trust in Korean medical care due to swift and systematic responses to COVID-19, we plan to use this seminar as an opportunity to expand our diplomatic scope toward Latin America by strengthening future health and medical cooperation between Korea and Latin America."
