Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in LA Deliver Meals to Residents in COVID-19 Quarantine
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who became independent from the British royal family at the end of last month and are living in Los Angeles (LA), USA, delivered meals to residents quarantined due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), CNN and Daily Mail reported on the 16th (local time).
According to the reports, the couple participated in the activities of the nonprofit organization 'Project Angel Food (PAF)', which prepares and delivers special meals for people with chronic illnesses, visiting some households to deliver meals. They are believed to have visited 20 households and delivered a week's worth of meals.
The Daily Mail reported that on the 12th, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle appeared in comfortable clothing, wearing masks, gloves, and jeans, visiting six households to deliver food. After PAF requested another delivery, they delivered meals to 14 households on the 15th.
Richard Ayoub, the head of PAF, stated that as COVID-19 spread, calls requesting help to the organization increased to up to 70 per day, but they were struggling due to a shortage of delivery workers when the couple extended a helping hand. He added that some recipients did not recognize who they were because the couple was unexpectedly dressed casually.
PAF is one of the organizations that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle officially began supporting after becoming independent from the royal family on the 31st of last month. Ayoub said he did not know if the couple would participate in volunteer activities again but said they would be welcome anytime.
