Jangseong-gun to Fully Distribute 4.5 Billion KRW in 'Farmers and Fishermen Public Interest Allowance' Starting from the 20th
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Gilsu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 17th that it will pay the full amount of 4.5 billion KRW in the agricultural and fishery public interest allowance within this month to revive the local economy weakened by COVID-19.
The county originally planned to pay the agricultural and fishery public interest allowance twice, in May and October, but decided to pay the full amount within this month to support farmers and local small business owners struggling due to the impact of COVID-19.
In addition, the agricultural and fishery public interest allowance will be paid in Jangseong Love Gift Certificates, which can be used within Jangseong to stabilize farmers' livelihoods and revitalize the local economy. Early distribution of the gift certificates is expected to stimulate consumption activities within the region, especially in traditional markets and among small business owners.
Eligibility for payment can be confirmed at the administrative welfare centers in the recipient's town or township. The agricultural and fishery public interest allowance will be distributed at local agricultural cooperatives in the recipient's area starting from the 20th.
Furthermore, for farmers who missed the application period, additional applications will be accepted at the town and township administrative welfare centers until the 29th.
The county plans to coordinate with local agricultural cooperatives to distribute the allowance by village and time slot to practice social distancing.
