This donation was made to help farmers producing eco-friendly agricultural products whose sales channels were blocked due to online school openings, to activate consumption, and to assist vulnerable groups in local communities suffering from COVID-19.
The donation fund was raised by collecting 30% of four months' salaries from aT President Lee Byung-ho and standing executives, as well as salaries from senior staff who voluntarily participated in wage returns.
The gift certificates donated this time will be provided to vulnerable groups in local communities through the National Disaster Relief Association and can be used to purchase desired products at eco-friendly agricultural product specialty stores such as Hansalim, iCOOP Cooperative, and Chorokmaeul.
Previously, aT has been making various efforts to expand online sales channels for eco-friendly agricultural products by selling eco-friendly agricultural product packages in collaboration with leading domestic social commerce platforms such as Coupang and TMON, as well as delivery service app Yogiyo, to overcome the COVID-19 crisis.
In addition, aT continues steady social contribution activities including voluntary fundraising by all employees, emergency quarantine support for living facilities and rice for livelihood stabilization for vulnerable groups, and mask donations for low-income elderly people.
aT President Lee Byung-ho said, "The best way to overcome national crises like COVID-19 is mutual solidarity and cooperation," and added, "aT will continue to fulfill its social responsibility and role as a public institution for the agricultural sector and local communities facing difficulties."
