[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyo-jin] Woori Financial Group announced on the 16th that it will prepay a total of 100 million won for meals at about 100 restaurants near its headquarters that are struggling due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
Woori Financial explained that this is part of the recently spreading good consumption movement to revitalize domestic demand through prepayment and pre-purchase. Sohn Tae-seung, Chairman of Woori Financial, said, "Small business owners near the headquarters, such as Namdaemun Market and Myeongdong, are also facing great difficulties due to a sharp decline in sales," urging participation in the good consumption movement through group-wide prepayment of meals.
