Musical 'Opera-ui Yujeong' Resumes Performances from the 23rd
[Asia Economy Reporter Byunghee Park] The world tour of the musical 'The Phantom of the Opera' will resume performances starting from the 23rd.
Clip Service, the promoter of 'The Phantom of the Opera' world tour, announced on the 16th that all actors and staff members' self-quarantine, in accordance with the guidelines of the relevant authorities, was lifted on the 15th. Clip Service added that actors and overseas staff confirmed negative test results again through re-examinations before the quarantine was lifted.
The 'Phantom of the Opera' world tour had suspended performances since the 1st due to a COVID-19 positive case among ensemble actors. Test results confirmed that two ensemble actors tested positive. Clip Service explained that among the two ensemble actors who tested positive, one actor fully recovered and was discharged on the 10th, while the other is currently undergoing treatment. They also stated that the two actors who tested positive will not perform for about two weeks after discharge and that their health condition will be continuously monitored and managed.

Clip Service stated that after health checks of actors and staff and a thorough review of the entire production, performances will officially resume on the 23rd. Additionally, during the suspension period, they conducted comprehensive safety inspections including separated pathways for audiences and actors/backstage staff, quarantine measures, ventilation, and the environment between the stage and the audience seats. They added that stage technical inspections and rehearsals for the resumption of performances are currently underway. Furthermore, they will continue to strictly implement infection prevention measures established since the opening, such as regular disinfection of the venue, mandatory mask-wearing, fever monitoring through thermal imaging cameras and contactless temperature checks, and restrictions on close contact between audiences and actors, in accordance with the policies and principles of the relevant authorities.
