Ron DeSantis, Governor of Florida, said in an interview with the U.S. Golf Channel on the 16th (Korean time), "With all sports halted due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), people lack new content," and expressed hope to host the tournament, saying, "I want to see a golf match between Mickelson and Woods in Florida." The first match between the two players was held in Las Vegas, Nevada in November 2018, but this time, a Florida venue is being pursued.
Florida has a 'stay at home' order in place until April 30, prohibiting sports and gatherings. Governor DeSantis stated, "It is important to comply with health authorities' guidelines on social distancing without spectators," and added, "If these rules are followed and the event is broadcast on TV, I will allow the tournament to be held." The Woods-Mickelson showdown is likely to take place next month. Two NFL stars, Tom Brady and Peyton Manning (both from the U.S.), will also join.

Woods will team up with Manning, and Mickelson will pair with Brady. The event is co-hosted by AT&T's WarnerMedia and the PGA Tour. It will be broadcast on Turner Sports' TNT channel or one of WarnerMedia's channels via a pay-per-view system. Like the first match, there will be no gallery, and only the minimum essential personnel will be present at the venue, ensuring compliance with COVID-19 prevention guidelines. All proceeds from the event will be donated as COVID-19 relief funds.
