Hyundai Department Store Apgujeong Branch Hosts 'Taegukdang' Pop-up Store
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] Hyundai Department Store announced on the 15th that it will open a pop-up store for the bakery 'Taegukdang' at the food section on the basement first floor of its Apgujeong Main Store from the 16th to the 19th. This is the first time a pop-up store for Taegukdang is being held in the distribution industry.
Taegukdang, which opened in Myeongdong, Seoul in 1946, is the oldest bakery in Seoul. Recently, it has become famous as a newtro hotspot by introducing a unique modern font and logo and renewing its store.
At this Apgujeong Main Store pop-up, 2,000 units of the signature products will be sold daily in limited quantities. Representative items include the 70-year-old 'Monaka Ice Cream' made with fresh milk, 'Gobang Castella', 'Sweet Red Bean Bread', and 'Butter Bread'.

A Hyundai Department Store official said, "This event will evoke nostalgia for customers in their 50s and 60s who remember Taegukdang, the oldest bakery in Seoul, and will feel fresh to the younger generation who discover newness in the old." He added, "We plan to continuously attract brands that become trending on social network services (SNS) and present them to customers."
