Future United Party Files Criminal Complaint Against Kim Han-gyu Over 'Elderly Voting Interference' Controversy
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] The United Future Party announced on the 14th that it will file a complaint with the prosecution against Kim Han-gyu, the Democratic Party candidate, for obstructing elderly voting, charging him with election freedom obstruction and incitement of election crimes under the Public Official Election Act.
The United Future Party plans to submit the complaint to the Supreme Prosecutors' Office at 2 p.m. that day.
The United Future Party pointed out that "Kim's campaign code of conduct shared on social network services (SNS) states, 'If your parents or elders have feelings for candidate number 2, it is helpful to prevent them from voting,'" criticizing it as derogatory toward the elderly and generational discrimination.
