Minsaengdang: "Lee In-young, Is the Emergency Disaster Relief Fund a Room Salon Golden Bell?"
"An Insult to the People Suffering from COVID-19"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] On the 14th, the Minsheng Party criticized Lee In-young, the floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, for mentioning the provision of emergency disaster relief funds to all citizens during a campaign rally supporting candidate Go Min-jeong, saying, "Floor Leader Lee has made the 100% emergency disaster relief fund conditional on candidate Go's election," and asked, "Is this a deal with the people and their votes?"
Moon Jeong-seon, spokesperson for the Minsheng Party's election countermeasures committee, said in a statement that day, "The emergency disaster relief fund is not a Golden Bell at a room salon that you can recklessly shake," criticizing the remarks.
Spokesperson Moon pointed out, "Why on earth is the scope of the emergency disaster relief fund linked to the election results of a specific candidate? This is nothing but mockery and insult to the people suffering from the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19)."
Moon added, "Of course, Floor Leader Lee's frivolous remarks are not surprising. We have not forgotten his shallow true colors, gathering in the back room of a restaurant in Mapo to conspire satellite parties and comparing opposition parties that supported reform legislation to sewage water," and stated, "The people have always been wise, and the election is not over yet. The best punishment is voting."
