Gyeongnam Fire Department Certifies 37 'Heart and Brain Savers' Who Saved Critically Ill Patients
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Woo-kwon] The Gyeongnam Fire Headquarters announced on the 14th that it awarded certificates and badges to 37 'Heart and Brain Savers' who revived critically ill emergency patients through prompt and accurate first aid.
A Heart Saver refers to a person who revived a cardiac arrest patient through cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and a Brain Saver refers to a person who promptly and accurately assessed and transported an acute stroke patient, contributing to minimizing aftereffects.
Based on emergency activities in the first quarter of this year, the Fire Headquarters selected 34 Heart Savers (1 civilian, 33 paramedics) and 3 Brain Savers. The civilian selected was awarded the Heart Saver certification after saving a colleague who lost consciousness while playing futsal in Tongyeong last January through swift action.
