Baek Jong-won Recommended Ottogi Jin Bibimmyun... Surpasses 5 Million Units Sold in Just 3 Weeks Since Launch
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] Ottogi announced on the 14th that its ‘Jin Bibimmyun,’ launched on the 23rd of last month, sold 5 million units in just three weeks (21 days).
‘Jin Bibimmyun’ is a product featuring the spicy flavor of Taeyangcho chili pepper combined with the tangy and refreshing taste of apple and tamarind seasoning sauce. It offers chewy and elastic noodles fortified with protein and dietary fiber, and the quantity is increased by 20% compared to Ottogi’s Buckwheat Bibimmyun (130g), allowing for a more generous serving. ‘Tamarind’ is a legume fruit mainly used in tropical cuisines of India and Southeast Asia to add a tangy aroma.
Ottogi highlighted the unique differentiation of ‘Jin Bibimmyun’ by applying the delicious spicy flavor know-how of Jin Ramen, a versatile soup base used in various dishes, to create a richer seasoning taste and addictive spiciness. They also pointed out that the refreshing flavor of tamarind, a spice mainly used in Southeast Asia, and the generous portion size responding to consumer feedback that one serving of bibimmyun was insufficient, are key factors.
