Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education Temporarily Lowers 'Shared Property Usage Fee Rate'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 13th that it will temporarily reduce the ‘shared property usage fee rate’ as a measure to alleviate the financial burden on citizens facing economic difficulties due to COVID-19.
In addition to existing measures such as extending the usage period and reducing usage fees for shared property that could not be used due to school and institution closures under the Office of Education caused by COVID-19, the usage fee rate for six months (February 1 to July 31) has been drastically reduced to 1% (an 80% reduction in usage fees).
This is a measure following the promulgation of the amendment to the ‘Enforcement Decree of the Act on the Management of Shared Property and Goods’ (effective March 31), which allows local governments to temporarily set usage fee rates within the range of 1% to 5%, instead of the usual 5%.
However, users who are large corporations, those who have overdue compensation payments, or cases where the shared property is used for residential, parking, or cultivation purposes are excluded from support.
