Dongdaemun-gu Captures and Broadcasts Spring Flower Video of Jungnangcheon for Residents Unable to Visit Due to Social Distancing Participation
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Yoo Deok-yeol) produced and released a video featuring spring flowers along Jungnangcheon Stream to comfort residents who could not go out to enjoy the flowers despite the sunny spring weather, as the 2020 Spring Flower Festival was canceled due to social distancing measures to prevent COVID-19 infection.
The district beautifully captured not only the fully bloomed cherry blossoms along the embankment path of Jungnangcheon Stream but also bright yellow forsythia, sandanghwa, azaleas, and crabapple trees in the spring flower video.
The video, which will soothe the hearts of residents wanting to enjoy the spring flowers, can be viewed on the Dongdaemun-gu Office Internet Broadcast (http://www.dbs.go.kr) and Dongdaemun-gu Office YouTube channel.
Yoo Deok-yeol, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, stated, “We fully understand the residents’ desire to enjoy spring, but to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the community, social distancing is still necessary, so we ask for your cooperation in refraining from outdoor activities.”
