Choi Bae-geun: "Progressive Alliance 180 Seats? Yoo Si-min Rarely Predicts Election Outcomes Correctly"
[Asia Economy Reporter Shinwon Yoon] Choi Bae-geun, co-chairman of the Democratic Citizens' Party, commented on Yoo Si-min, chairman of the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation, saying that "it is not impossible for the progressive camp to secure 180 seats by combining proportional representation seats." Choi said, "Chairman Yoo has rarely been accurate in his election forecasts."
On the 13th, Choi appeared on CBS Radio's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show' and said, "(Chairman Yoo's remarks) are, in a way, a personal judgment, but from my perspective, they could cause misunderstandings."
Earlier, on the 10th, Yoo predicted a landslide victory for the Democratic Party of Korea in the April 15 general election on his YouTube broadcast 'Yoo Si-min's Alileo,' stating, "Alone, they cannot reach 180 seats, but if all progressive parties combine their seats, they can fill 180 seats," forecasting that the pro-government camp could secure 180 seats.
In response, Chairman Choi dismissed this by saying, "No one knows the public's voting intention until the lid is opened," and added, "We are grateful to the people even if we achieve just a majority of the seats."
