[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] LG Electronics' washing machine factory in Tennessee, USA, which had suspended operations due to the impact of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), will resume operations on the 15th. This factory had halted operations since the 30th of last month due to COVID-19.
However, LG Electronics' TV factory in Manaus, Brazil, is reported to have suspended operations again. The local TV factory, which stopped operations on the 30th of last month, temporarily resumed on the 6th but stopped again on the 9th. Considering the local situation and cargo volume, it will remain closed until the 19th as a preemptive measure.
Samsung Electronics also plans to resume operations at its washing machine factory in South Carolina, USA, on the 19th. Earlier, Samsung temporarily closed the South Carolina factory until the 5th after two employees tested positive for COVID-19 on the 3rd.
