KT Selected as Operator for NIA Quantum Communication Network Operation
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] KT has been selected as the builder and operator of the quantum cryptography communication network for the 'Hyperconnected Intelligent Research and Development Network (KOREN)' commissioned by the National Information Society Agency (NIA) of Korea.
Quantum cryptography communication is a communication technology that transmits information using photons, the quantum particles of light. The quantum cryptography communication network that KT is building covers the Seoul-Suwon section of the Hyperconnected Intelligent Research and Development Network. Various devices such as quantum cryptography systems and encryption equipment will be installed in this section according to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU)'s 'open layered architecture' standard.
