Sambu Construction Signs MOU with Seoul National University Construction Environment Research Institute for 'Advancement of Geotechnical Engineering Technology'
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Sambutogeon, the 'first domestic construction company,' has joined hands with the Seoul National University Construction Environment Research Institute to advance technology in the field of geotechnical engineering.
Sambutogeon, which has been actively engaged in SOC projects such as highways, railroads, and ports, as well as cultural heritage projects, and recently in architectural projects under the 'Renaissance' brand, announced on the 13th that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Seoul National University Construction Environment Research Institute for the 'development of new construction technologies and joint technology development in the field of geotechnical engineering.'
This MOU was signed to promote technological advancement and research in the field of geotechnical engineering, and according to the agreement, there will be mutual cooperation in research for new technology development in geotechnical engineering and testing support during the execution of research projects by the Construction Environment Research Institute.
Additionally, necessary data for technological development in areas of common interest will be shared, and joint participation in research projects through industry-academia cooperation will also be pursued.

A representative from Sambutogeon stated, "Geotechnical engineering technology is an indispensable technology not only for our company's main business of architecture but also for all construction works including SOC. It is a field with many social challenges to be addressed, such as ground subsidence accidents around construction sites and road cracking." He added, "This agreement will serve as a good opportunity to activate mutual industry-academia cooperation, joint research, and technology development between the two institutions."
