Mapo Cultural Foundation's Second Audience-Free Live Broadcast Performance 'Tap Dance + Jazz Music'
Live YouTube Broadcast at 11 AM on the 17th
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] The Mapo Cultural Foundation will hold the second series of "Enjoy Mapo Art Center from Your Living Room - All That Rhythm Live" at Art Hall Mac in Mapo Art Center on the 17th. To accommodate audiences unable to visit performance venues due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, the Mapo Cultural Foundation prepared a no-audience live broadcast performance, launching its first stage "All That Tango" on the 31st of last month.
For this second no-audience live broadcast performance, the professional tap dance team "Korea Tap Orchestra," composed of the choreography team behind the film "Swing Kids," and the jazz band "Golden Age Band" from the live bars "Get All Right" in Cheongdam-dong, Seoul, and Haeundae, Busan, will participate, showcasing tap dance group performances and tap dance routines. "All That Rhythm Live" will be broadcast live via the Mapo Cultural Foundation's Facebook and Mapo-gu Office's Mapo TV YouTube channel.
Last year, the Mapo Cultural Foundation hosted the country's first professional tap dance festival. The "Seoul Tap Dance Festival," hosted by the Mapo Cultural Foundation last year and this year, attracted great interest, with over 90% of performances sold out, and "All That Rhythm" was among the most beloved performances.
This performance will feature some of the most active professional tappers in Korea today. Choreographer Lee Yeon-ho, who created the choreography for the film "Swing Kids," will direct and perform in "All That Rhythm." Park Yong-gap, the tap dance choreographer of the musical "Rogisu," the original work of "Swing Kids," and tap dance star Jo Sung-ho, who appeared on MBC's Infinite Challenge, SBS's K-pop Star, and KBS's Immortal Songs, will also perform. Son Yoon and Kim Kyung-ryeong, principal members of the Korea Tap Orchestra and female professional tappers, will showcase unique charms. Jang Il-hyun, who appeared on Mnet's "I Can See Your Voice" Season 6, will make a special surprise guest appearance.
