Conservative Unity Moves Forward by United Party... "If Ruling Party Takes 180 Seats, Cho Kuk and Yoo Si-min Will Compete for Presidency"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] The United Future Party has rallied conservative forces ahead of the general election, stating that "if the ruling party secures 180 seats, former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk and Yoo Si-min, director of the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation, will compete for the presidency."
Kim Woo-seok, the full-time chief spokesperson of the United Future Party's election committee, said in a statement on the 12th, "If the Democratic Party of Korea wins 180 seats and the pro-government coalition secures 200 seats, enough to amend the constitution, Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol will be arrested first."
Spokesperson Kim said, "Even now, he is a thorn in their side, but if they win the election, they will openly ridicule Prosecutor General Yoon, claiming 'prosecutorial reform is the people's mandate.' It is entirely predictable what those who shamelessly attacked Prosecutor Yoon during the election period under the pretext of prosecutorial reform will do if they win the election. The threat of being the 'No. 1 target of the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials (CIO)' will certainly not be just a threat."
He continued, "Even after bringing him down, they will not leave him alone. They intend to eradicate the seeds of conscience through exemplary punishment. They will try to arrest him by citing all sorts of justifications and allegations," adding, "If the prosecution is neutralized and the CIO controls even the courts, the current reckless behavior will accelerate."
Spokesperson Kim predicted that "Cho Kuk has a 'trade-off' relationship with Prosecutor General Yoon. If Yoon Seok-yeol is arrested, Cho Kuk will receive a pardon," and that Chairman Yoo and former Minister Cho will continue their paths toward the presidency.
He said, "Cho Kuk's solo run is unstable. Another alternative is needed. That position belongs to Yoo Si-min. To join this competitive race, Yoo Si-min confidently predicted the ruling party would win 180 seats on his broadcast," adding, "The two will compete and continue to draw attention, and whoever wins will inherit the Moon Jae-in administration and complete totalitarianism."
Regarding prominent ruling party presidential candidates such as former Prime Minister Lee Nak-yeon, Mayor Park Won-soon, and Governor Lee Jae-myung, he evaluated, "They are merely targets to be used as pacemakers and then discarded."

Spokesperson Kim pointed out, "As Yoo Si-min assured, if the ruling party wins 180 seats in this general election, it will become a realized reality. The incompetence and misrule of the Moon Jae-in administration will be prolonged. The shameless Cho Kuk will seize power, causing the people to feel ashamed before future generations and fall into self-loathing. Public opinion will continue to be swayed by Yoo Si-min's sophistry."
