Future United Party "Give us more power to check... If even the National Assembly is dominated, the country will become a 'Pro-Moon Hegemony'"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] The United Future Party urged for the power to check the current administration, stating, "If the current regime takes control of the National Assembly through this election, this country will become a nation dominated by pro-Moon Jae-in hegemonic forces."
On the 12th, United Future Party candidates said in the "4.15 General Election National Appeal Concentrated Rally Appeal" that "This election is, in short, a decision on whether to allow the pro-Moon faction to monopolize power and continue their reckless actions, or to give the opposition the power to check them."
They stated, "This country is turning into a nation dominated entirely by pro-Moon forces. The majority of Supreme Court justices and Constitutional Court justices appointed under the Moon Jae-in administration are also aligned with their ideology," adding, "Public broadcasters and government-influenced media organizations have without exception been taken over by pro-Moon personnel."
They continued, "Among the 17 metropolitan governors, 14 belong to the ruling party, and among the 17 education superintendents, 14 are progressive figures. The ruling party also swept the local government heads and metropolitan councils in the last local elections," emphasizing, "Not only the central government but also local governments and education offices lack even minimal checks and balances. The ruling party's nominations have also resulted in exclusively pro-Moon candidates."
The United Future Party warned, "In this situation, if the current regime takes control of the National Assembly through this election, this country will truly become a nation ruled by pro-Moon hegemonic forces," and pointed out, "The Blue House is already a 'Blue House government' running unchecked, and if it monopolizes legislative power as well, South Korean democracy will head toward a quasi-totalitarian path."
They added, "Opportunities to change wrong policies in areas such as economy, diplomacy, security, and nuclear phase-out will be blocked, and the regime's reckless governance will continue in all national affairs," and said, "If the ruling party wins this election, they will oust Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-youl, use the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials to block investigations into power-related corruption directed at themselves, and move toward a new type of security state."

The United Future Party stated, "The Moon Jae-in administration's various misgovernances over the past three years have been concealed by self-praise exploiting the national crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic," and added, "If the ruling party creates a legislature that runs unchecked, there will be no way to prevent this country from heading in the wrong direction," concluding, "To prevent this from happening, we earnestly ask you to give the United Future Party the power to check the regime."
