'News9' Lim Young-woong "Can't Believe I'm Riding the Trot Fever Train"
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Park Hee-eun] Lim Young-woong appeared on TV Chosun's 'News9' to share his recent thoughts and future activity plans.
On the 10th broadcast of TV Chosun's 'News9', Lim Young-woong spoke about his new song "Now Trust Only Me" reaching number one on the music charts, saying, "It was the first time a trot song ranked first on the comprehensive music chart. It was truly surprising and I am very grateful."
Regarding the new song, he explained, "It is a trot song that allows you to feel the emotions of a ballad. It is a song that all age groups can enjoy. Some people say it feels like a husband who has lived life together is singing it, and others feel it is like my own story. In fact, lyricist Kim Eana wrote the lyrics based on my story."
Lim Young-woong, who continues to appear not only on various entertainment programs but also on music shows, shared his thoughts: "Although I have been active as a current singer, I have never appeared on such programs before, so it feels like I am going to see celebrities. It is exciting and fun."
He also mentioned the growing trot craze following 'Mr. Trot', saying, "I can't believe I am riding this trot craze train. Thanks to 'Mr. Trot', not only the parents' generation but also the younger generation have come to appreciate the charm of trot singers."
Regarding his future plans, Lim Young-woong said, "It is still uncertain due to COVID-19, but I plan to hold concerts in Southeast Asia. I have not yet checked the overseas fan reactions," hinting at the overseas expansion of K-trot.

Meanwhile, Lim Young-woong stated, "Since I am a singer who has just started, I am not yet at the stage to feel a sense of responsibility or pride for trot," and expressed his determination, "I will work harder so that trot is not a genre loved only by a specific age group but a genre loved by everyone."
