Jeonnam Governor Kim Young-rok Checks Gohung-gun's COVID-19 Response Status
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Kim Young-rok, Governor of Jeonnam Province, inspected the ‘COVID-19’ response situation in Goheung-gun.
On the 10th, according to Jeonnam Province, Governor Kim visited the Goheung-gun Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters to check the ‘COVID-19’ quarantine system and the progress of social distancing measures, and encouraged the staff working in the situation room.
Governor Kim said, “Following the recent confirmed cases at entertainment establishments in other cities and provinces, we issued an administrative order recommending the suspension of business at entertainment facilities within the province and mandating compliance with necessary measures if operation is unavoidable,” adding, “While actively promoting the strengthened social distancing campaign, please ensure the meticulous attention and smooth implementation of emergency support projects for local residents, including small business owners who are experiencing difficulties.”
He also added, “Due to the prolonged COVID-19 situation, it has become difficult to secure overseas labor, and a shortage of farm labor is expected during the busy farming season,” and requested, “Please prepare countermeasures for the labor shortage in cooperation with local military units, related organizations, and groups to alleviate the burden of labor shortage for local farmers.”
Meanwhile, Jeonnam Province is providing the ‘Jeonnam-type COVID-19 Emergency Living Expenses’ to stabilize the lives of residents facing difficulties.
