NongHyup Hanaro Mart Sells This Year's First Domestic 'Delaware Grapes' at Yangjae Branch
[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] Nonghyup Distribution announced on the 10th that it will sell the first domestic 'Delaware' grapes of the year at the Nonghyup Hanaro Mart Yangjae branch.
This grape is of the Delaware variety and is the earliest to be shipped year-round through greenhouse cultivation. Unlike regular grapes, it is seedless and has small-sized berries, making it easy to eat. In particular, the Delaware variety has an average sugar content of 17-18 Brix, which is higher than the average sugar content of 14 Brix for regular grapes.
The grape farmers in the Sannae area of Daejeon, who introduced the first Delaware grapes this year, start harvesting from early April, 2-3 months earlier than other regions, through facility greenhouse cultivation, and produce until July.
