Catching Youth with the Creation of 'Boseong Da (Tea·Da) Culture Village'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Yong-chul] Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 10th that it was finally selected for the 2020 ‘Jeonnam Population, Finding New Hope Project’ contest hosted by Jeollanam-do, securing a total project budget of about 180 million KRW.
Boseong-gun, which applied for the contest with the ‘Boseong Da(茶, 多) Culture Village Creation Project,’ will receive 88 million KRW in provincial subsidies. The project will be carried out until December.
The ‘Boseong Da(茶, 多) Culture Village Creation Project’ is a project that nurtures young people nationwide as professional tea blenders in line with the characteristic of Boseong as the green tea capital, and provides multicultural learning campus education to help young people, including marriage immigrant women, obtain home fashion certificates.
The county expects this project to create youth jobs and encourage young people to settle in the region, and judges that it will contribute to the livelihood stability of multicultural families.
In particular, by allowing young people who have completed professional tea blending education to rent and operate the Youth Da(茶·多) Room, it will be used as a practical training site where they can gain hands-on experience for start-ups by running their own stores, and it is planned to be operated as a community space loved by local youth.
A county official said, “We will actively promote the project to become a successful role model for solving the population decline problem,” and added, “We will also strive to attract population by practically improving jobs, residential conditions, and childcare environment to maintain Boseong-gun’s population of 40,000.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Jeonnam Population Finding New Hope Project’ is a project to respond to regional population issues such as low birthrate, aging, and youth population outflow, and to create and operate various employment and start-up support spaces and programs by utilizing idle spaces to attract and settle creative young generations for sustainable and healthy population structure reorganization and settlement.
