Gyeonggi-do to Recruit 300 Consumer Safety Guardians
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province is recruiting 300 'Consumer Safety Guardians' by the 20th of this month.
The Consumer Safety Guardians project aims to create a safe consumption environment and spread safety awareness through voluntary consumer participation. Their duties include ▲monitoring hazardous products on children's school routes ▲promoting safety information for vulnerable groups ▲conducting safety inspections of vulnerable facilities ▲monitoring areas with frequent consumer damage.
Applicants for Consumer Safety Guardians must be Gyeonggi residents interested in consumer safety and capable of field activities. Anyone such as consumer group activists, youth, women with career interruptions, and middle-aged or older individuals seeking reemployment can apply.
The province will directly select 75 members to serve as the operation team and regional supporters, and the remaining 225 will be selected from 31 cities and counties within the province.
Consumer Safety Guardians will work 5 hours a day, 6 to 8 times a month, and activity allowances will be paid based on the Gyeonggi Province living wage standard.

The province will post the recruitment results and schedule on the Gyeonggi Consumer Information Center website on the 11th of next month. However, specific activities may change depending on the COVID-19 situation.
