Sejong City Provides 'Onnuri Gift Certificates' to Low-Income Households... Up to 1.4 Million KRW for Families of Four
[Asia Economy (Sejong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Sejong City will provide Onnuri gift certificates to low-income households in the region.
The city announced on the 9th that it will promote the "Temporary Living Support for Low-Income Households" project with this content.
The living support project is centered on providing up to 1.4 million KRW for a four-person household to low-income families struggling due to the spread of COVID-19. The project budget will be covered by 3 billion KRW in national funds secured through the government's supplementary budget.
The support amount will be paid differentially according to eligibility and the number of household members. For example, based on a four-person household (for four months), ▲ recipients of livelihood and medical benefits will receive 1.4 million KRW ▲ recipients of housing and education benefits, and near-poor households will receive 1.08 million KRW in Onnuri gift certificates respectively.
Recipients of the gift certificates can check the payment date through a text message sent from the 16th without a separate application process, and then visit their local administrative welfare center on the designated date to receive the support funds in person.
However, if it is difficult for recipients to visit in person due to mobility issues, a legal representative or benefit manager can receive the funds on their behalf. If proxy receipt is also difficult, the welfare team of the town, township, or neighborhood office will visit the household directly to deliver the support.
To receive the gift certificates, recipients must wear masks and visit the local town, township, or neighborhood administrative welfare center on the pre-notified date to practice social distancing.
For more detailed information about the living support project, residents can inquire at their local town, township, or neighborhood administrative welfare center.
