Fire at Waste Vinyl Recycling Plant in Gumi, Gyeongbuk... Extinguished After 7 Hours
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Dong-wook] On the night of the 8th, around 10:50 PM, a fire broke out at a waste vinyl recycling factory in Sangnim-ri, Jangcheon-myeon, Gumi-si, Gyeongbuk.
The fire burned down all six buildings, including the factory and dormitory, covering a total area of 1,538㎡, and was completely extinguished after 7 hours. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
The fire department issued a 'Response Level 1' alert, mobilizing all nearby firefighting personnel and deploying 33 pieces of equipment, including pump trucks and chemical trucks, to extinguish the fire. However, the presence of many flammable materials made initial firefighting efforts difficult.
